Buried beneath my skin - Dominic Dispirito at The Bomb Factory Holborn

Holborn

March 2026

Across the works, bodies stretch, fold and reorganise under invisible pressure. Through fluid, rhythmic brushwork, Dispirito translates internal states into visceral form, capturing endurance and hyper vigilance alongside a quieter sense of desperation. Skin becomes terrain, and flesh acts as a record of persistence, with figures hovering between fragility and resilience.

Rather than depicting suffering directly, the paintings embrace distortion as a means of revealing psychological truth. Each work holds tension between vulnerability and strength, conveying the effort involved in simply staying intact.
