UMBILICS - Talia Golchin at Holborn Window Gallery
Working across sculpture and painting, Golchin creates swollen latex forms that hint at the female body without ever fully describing it. Suggestive of skin, breasts, organs or balloons, the sculptures invite recognition while resisting fixed interpretation.
Alongside a series of latex sculptures, the exhibition includes paintings populated by similar forms. Swollen shapes that could be read as clouds, bodies or something else entirely drift through imagined landscapes. Repeated across changing palettes and environments, they move between the bodily and the surreal, creating worlds that feel both familiar and strange.
Golchin is a British-Iranian artist based in London and a resident artist at The Bomb Factory Art Foundation, Marylebone.
