Exhibition continues until July 1st
The Bomb Factory introduces a solo show by painter Alfie Kungu. Originally from Yorkshire and part of Saatchi’s Best of the Year collection in 2017, Kungu’s pieces consist of robust bold palettes with arhythmic and chaotic nature. Heavily influenced by 90s cartoons, his work often features animated characters and create an immersive abstract world. His distinct drawing style and sensitivity to color give his work an original, playful and exciting presence. Alfie’s works are bright and playful, his childhood figurative characters realized with classical painting techniques. Familiar cultural motifs are set against contrasting textures and fearless colors, coming together as a vivid expression of Kungu’s headspace.
