Tarzan Kingofthejungle's practice centers on constructing scenes composed of borrowed elements props, lines, symbols, or characters isolated from their original contexts (e.g. a discarded lantern, a lens flare, a soundtrack). He experiments with these fragments by dismantling, manipulating, or rearranging them to explore how meaning is generated and transformed.
Working across film, installation, performance, and writing, Kingofthejungle is drawn to belief systems— religious, esoteric, secular, and philosophical—particularly their allegorical narratives. He engages with the mechanics of storytelling: narrative structure, character archetypes, cinematic techniques, the cultural evolution of fairytales, and the shifting role of fiction from its prehistoric origins to the present.
