The Bomb Factory at Ten Years: Landmark Exhibition Tomorrow Opens at Marylebone Gallery
The Bomb Factory Art Foundation marks its tenth anniversary with Tomorrow, a landmark exhibition opening at its flagship Marylebone Gallery on October 9th, 2025. The exhibition celebrates a decade of bold, experimental programming while looking ahead to the next chapter in the Foundation’s artist-led mission.
Over the past decade, The Bomb Factory has hosted a remarkable range of artists, reflecting the ambition and breadth of its programme. Featuring Turner Prize winner Mark Wallinger, abstract painter John Hoyland, conceptual artists Mat Collishaw, Oliver Beer and Rana Begum, Booker Prize–winning writer Ben Okri with collaborator Rosemary Clunie, sculptor Polly Morgan, multidisciplinary artist Richie Culver, and Bomb Factory Director Pallas Citroen, Tomorrow celebrates the defining moments of this ten-year journey.
Building on this legacy, the exhibition also highlights the next generation shaping The Bomb Factory’s future. Emerging painters Okiki Akinfe and Marcus Leotaud, multi-disciplinary artist bill daggs, and sculptor Edward Rollitt exemplify the new wave of talent, helping to shape the next chapter in The Bomb Factory’s evolving story.
A series of major new and rarely seen works will be on display, beginning with Wallinger’s unseen film Arcadia and Hoyland’s two monumental paintings, Xonor and Animal Imagined, unseen in the UK since 1990, which fill the gallery with their spiritual presence. Marcus Leotaud’s large-scale oil painting continues the uncanny themes explored in his acclaimed debut exhibition Between Dog and Wolf. Ben Okri and Rosemary Clunie present World’s End, a powerful fusion of poetry, painting, and environmental politics, while Okiki Akinfe’s It Sucks to Suck uses tenderness, humour, and vulnerability to explore the Black experience. From film and painting to poetry and sculpture, the exhibition offers a vivid snapshot of The Bomb Factory’s journey over the past decade.
On opening night, the exhibition will spill beyond the gallery walls, with live performances from Ben Okri, Harry Smithson, and Catinca Malaimare, embodying the spirit of experimentation for which The Bomb Factory is renowned.
“This milestone is both a celebration and a call to action,” said Pallas Citroen, Director of The Bomb Factory. “For ten years, we have proven what artists can achieve when given the space, support, and freedom to experiment. Now we must secure a permanent home so the next generation can dream even bigger.”
Founded in 2015 in a former munitions factory in Archway, The Bomb Factory Art Foundation has grown into five galleries and studio complexes across London. Over the past decade, it has supported hundreds of artists with affordable studios, welcomed thousands of visitors, and forged lasting partnerships with schools, charities, and community groups.
