Taking place on Wednesday 1st July, this special private view marks the culmination of a year-long creative collaboration between young people from Westminster City Lions and professional artists from The Bomb Factory Art Foundation.
Over the past year, the cohort has explored the possibilities of making in three dimensions, experimenting with sculpture, installation, ceramics, wearable art and a wide range of materials and processes. Working alongside artists from The Bomb Factory Art Foundation, they have developed new skills, tested ideas and discovered how everyday materials can be transformed into bold and imaginative works of art.
For their final showcase, the young artists have taken the lead in shaping their own exhibition. I Always Come Back To The Overgrown Garden brings together their individual works and shared ideas, creating a space that celebrates their creativity and curiosity.
The private view will include speeches from the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Karen Scarborough, and Councillor Galley, Cabinet Member for Children and Education, followed by a presentation of certificates recognising the achievements and commitment of the cohort. Following the exhibition in our Holborn Gallery, the work will relocate to our Holborn Window Gallery from 6 to 27 July and will be visible 24 hours a day.
PRIVATE VIEW: Weds 1st July, 4-6pm
LOCATION: 99 Kingsway, WC2B 6QX
