The Bomb Factory Theatre is a new-writing company dedicated to championing women and non-binary playwrights. Too often, these writers don’t have the same space, time, or opportunities as their male counterparts.

The industry isn’t where it should be, and we are here to change that.

We don’t just support new writing—we develop it. Through free dramaturgical support, workshops, R&D space, and directorial guidance, we give writers the tools to take their ideas from page to stage. Community is at the heart of what we do. We build lasting relationships with the writers we work with and support stories that might not otherwise get made.

Our commitment extends beyond production. We run playwriting and directing workshops in schools and offer talks, events, and training for those who haven’t had access to traditional theatre education. Change starts from the ground up.

Founded in 2019 by India Harrison Peppe, The Bomb Factory Theatre is a women-led company. India co-directs alongside Merle Wheldon-Posner, who joined soon after its launch, with Jessy Roberts as our resident director. We operate in association with the Bomb Factory Art Foundation.
