Aoibhin Maguire, born in 1997, is a painter from Belfast, Northern Ireland, living and working in London. She obtained her BA in Fine Art from Lancaster University and graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Painting. Maguire’s painting explores escapism, emotion, and the power of colour to transform. Nature acts as an inspiration and a form of refuge for her. The layers in her work reflect a deeper exploration of these themes, blending the organic beauty of the world with the endless possibilities of paint. The process of adding and scraping back layer after layer of paint results in work that’s deeply personal, shaped by past experiences as well as emotions, fantasy, and imagination.
